Father Jack was formed in the spring of 2002 by drummer Mike Caywood and bassist Dave Schmidt with the intentions of creating a fresh sound in and around the St. Louis Metro East area. Finding a sound that wasn't overdone and also challenging was made possible by deciding on a two lead guitar attack filled very ably by Andy Kish and Jim Whelan. Opening up even more avenues was the addition of keyboardist and harp player Gary Smith. Recently, the band was able to pursue even more new directions when vocalist Sheila Hull was added to the mix. She has given a new voice to the band and has expanded the band's possibilities into directions not yet explored.

With a focus on Classic Rock and Blues, Father Jack plays a variety of music from the Delta Blues of Elmore James and Robert Johnson to the Chicago Blues of Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. From the guitar rock of Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn to the classic rock of the Animals and Bob Seger. Toss in a dash of The Allman Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Buffalo Springfield, Etta James and Johnny Cash and you have the ingredients of self defined Home Brewed Rock n Blues.

With 9+ years under our belts, a professional attitude, sound system and live performance experience, Father Jack is ready to expand into new areas. It is our hope that if you are reading this, that we may bring our style of power packed Rock and Blues into your club. Give us a listen.

Thanks, Father Jack
